2 Corinthians 10:12. Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.

One reason so many people are so angry and without peace is the continual attitude of needing to compare themselves with others. We tend to strive to have the best, the most, be the decision makers, be the best at all we do and on and on. The only one we are to compare ourselves with is Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. Of course we all fall very short in being like Him but He did give us His Holy Spirit to work within us and help us repent from our self-centered sinful ways and learn to follow His way. As we learn to do this anger is replaced with love for fellow people, wanting God’s best for each one. No longer striving against others replaces unrest with God’s peace. Our question is are we willing to choose this repentance and ask God for His filling and help in reflecting His Son in and through us?
