From Earthly Things

2 Corinthians 3:18. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

I use to sing a song that went, “from glory to glory He’s changing me from earthly things to the heavenly.” Life is movement. There is no “freeze-dried” life. We either keep changing or we die. Our question is how are we changing? Are we allowing the changing to be dictated by circumstances or the world around us or will we a timely look to God and allow Him to work His changes in us? After our initial change at our re-birth the changes usually come in small, sometimes unnoticeable degrees. To be changed every day into God’s glory requires a willing heart and a pliable mind. We may not notice how we change from day-to-day but we should be able to see a difference from a few months ago. Let us desire and be open to God’s changing us from earthly things to the heavenly.
