Learning to Serve

1 Corinthians 12:11. It is one and the same Spirit, distributing as he decides to each person, who produces all these things.

When a child is born the parents take care of all his needs. Nothing is required of the child. As the child grows the parent gradually teaches him things that make him part of the working family. Many of the same things are taught to all the children but there are some things that are taught to just one, depending on the child’s interests and abilities. God also gradually teaches His children through scripture and His Holy Spirit. Many of the things are taught to all of His children but there are things He chooses to just teach certain children that compliment the abilities and interest God designed in them. Our question is are we open to try new things we might be learning and seeing if they are for us? Maybe we’ve never read scripture out loud in church or never prayed out loud. How do we know if God is equipping us for these if we don’t try. Let us be willing to continue to try new ministries throughout all our days. God will always find someone else but it is us who don’t try who miss out on growth and new blessings.
