Matthew 6:13. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Someone asked me why I don’t say “amen” at the end of my prayers. It is because my prayers never end. Prayer is a 2-way conversation with God. I keep a running conversation throughout my day. There are times when I do close with the word “amen.” This is when praying for a group out loud but even then I often omit the ending “amen.” “Amen” is a word meaning “so be it,”. To me the only one qualified to say “so be it” is God. There are times I pray for something that really isn’t in the center of God’s design. I want God’s perfect will and God’s best over what I might think is best. Most often I end with “thank you Lord.” I am so very thankful I am allowed to talk to God and He listens and answers. When I consider Who God is and what I am I see the miracle in this relationship. The question today is do we desire to keep an ongoing, 2-way conversation going between us and God? Wether we say “amen” or anything else, let us always keep, the ears and hearts open and the conversation going.
