The Lord’s Prayer

Matthew 6:9. So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,

Jesus didn’t say pray this prayer or recite this prayer. He said pray this way. He was telling us the subjects we should have in our prayers and how to order them. There is nothing wrong with reciting His example prayer as long as we understand and mean the words we are reciting. But we are also to pray from our hearts. Some have made an acronym for the example prayer. It is ACTS. A is for adoration. C is for confession. T is for thanksgiving. S is for supplication. We will probably be looking into these four areas the next few days. For now, let’s recite the prayer example slowly thinking about what the words we are saying really mean.
