Matthew 6:12. and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves a have forgiven our debtors.

We are so good at looking at the big and overlooking the small. There is a very small word we say. It gives a condition. The word is AS. We ask God to forgive our debts, our wrongs whether on purpose or not, in the same manner and to the same degree we forgive the wrongs or hurts done to us by others. We put this condition on God’s forgiveness for us every time we say this prayer. I find I can’t really walk in forgiveness of others unless I specifically say to God I forgive and ask God to forgive them as well. This is the only way I am able to drop my hurts or anger and walk in the love of God. Our question is do we think we have the right to nurse our hurts and harbor our grudges? We tend to like telling others about the perceived wrongs done to us in hopes it validates our choices of behavior. What it does is to put a wedge between our personal relationships with God and with others. Let us choose to walk in the same forgiveness we want with others that we want for ourselves.
