1 Samuel 16:7. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Dont be impressed by his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. God does not view things the way men do. People look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Not only does this verse tell us how to look at others, it tells us how to look at ourselves. When we look at a mirror we only see the reflection of our outward appearance. To look on our inward appearance, the way God sees us, we need the help of His Holy Spirit. Some of us are too lenient with ourselves. Some of us are too harsh. God’s Holy Spirit will reveal our inner self to us in ways we can handle. He isn’t harsh but He will show us areas that need His cleansing followed by His renewing. Our question is are we willing to see? Our willingness hinges on our trust level of God’s love for us. Let us choose to trust Him enough to allow His re molding us after His Image. Let us allow Him to turn us inside-out.
