In Control

Luke 2:5. He went to be registered with Mary, who was promised in marriage to him, and who was expecting a child.

Joseph and Mary were from Nazareth. They had no desire to leave their home, especially when she was about to go into labor and give birth. They were under the rule of Rome and were forced to go to the city of their clan, Bethlehem. They had no knowledge that move would fulfill one of the many prophecies about the Messiah. So often things happen in our lives that are inconvenient, uncomfortable or we just don’t like. As believers we acknowledge God to be in control of our lives. In times like just mentioned we forget. We keep our eyes on the circumstances rather than the One in control. Today let us praise God for working His will through an unbelieving king and for His ever watchful control over our paths.
