Isaiah 40:3-5. A voice cries out, “In the wilderness clear a way for the Lord; construct in the desert a road for our God. Every valley must be elevated, and every mountain and hill leveled. The rough terrain will become a level plain, the rugged landscape a wide valley. The splendor of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it at the same time.
For the Lord has decreed it.”

This prophecy refers to John the Baptizer who encouraged people to repent of their sins and prepare their hearts to receive the Messiah, Jesus. It is also a word of instruction for is. Although we celebrate the birth of Jesus during Advent, we are also to prepare for His return. We are to cry out. We are to reveal Jesus to all those around us. We are to prepare them for His coming to collect His Bride, the believers, and bring us into the very presence of God. Our questions are, are we ready, are we being a voice that cries out and are we doong our part to prepare the way for others to come?
