Worship and Praise

Matthew 4:10. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan:for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship is the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration to a deity. It is a privilege God gives us. God created the need to worship Him within us. When we try to worship something or someone in place of God we do not get the release of the need to worship which God created in us. There is no one or nothing that can fulfill our need to worship other than the one true God. In my mind there is a difference between worship and praise. When I praise God I quite often am sharing with others about God, Who He is and heat He has done. When those words of praise are directed straight to God I am worshiping Him. Many of our songs are about God. The are in third person. I like to change them to first person. I change the “we’s” to “I” and the “he” to “You.” I encourage you to give it a try.
