Build a House

1 Chronicles 17:12. He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne for ever.

This verse is referring to Jesus. He came to build a house of believing worshipers. Where we worship isn’t important. What is important is our coming together to worship. It can be in a beautiful cathedral, a barn, a large clearing in the woods or any other place where a group of people can gather together. People have always wanted to build a house for God to dwell o this earth (Moses built a tent tabernacle, David wanted to build a temple, Solomon built a temple). God dwells in our worship. We build physical places for worship for our comfort and as a testimony of our gathering together to worship. We try to make these places inviting to others to come and join us. This is good. Our church has recently finished making a prayer garden visible from the road with a sign inviting all to come and worship. We hope it will lead them to join us in worship as we come together on Sundays and other times. As the carol many if sang during Advent, “O come let us adore Him.”
