The Ark

Genesis 7:1. The Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I consider you godly among this generation.

God told Noah all who came into the ark would be protected. Ark is in the Bible 203 times. The first time, in Genesis, was to protect from death by water. The only one who sought that protection were Noah and his family. Next we read, (Exodus 25:10) “They are to make an ark of acacia wood its length is to be three feet nine inches, its width two feet three inches, and its height two feet three inches. This was called the ark of the covenant. Instead of entering it for protection it was used to house the testimony God gave Moses. Protection resulted through obedience of God’s testimony. This ark with God’s testimony was hidden behind a curtain in the tent tabernacle. It traveled with the people wherever they went. Eventually they had a tabernacle that housed the ark, still behind a curtain. When Jesus died on the cross that gigantic curtain was ripped from the top to the bottom by the power of God. The ark was no longer hidden from view. The ark was in plain view for any to come and receive the protection of God through the blood of His Son, Jesus. Our question today is are we looking to the ark housing the testimony of God? God’s testimony is found in the book we call “The Holy Bible.” It is in those pages we find God’s testimony which protects us when we follow it. It is through the blood of Jesus we are promised we need no longer fear death because we have been given eternal life with God. I pray we are all in God’s ark
