Ephesians 5:1 Therefore, be imitators of God as dearly loved children

God is love personified in His Son, Jesus Christ. If we are to be imitators of God we must also personify God’s love. All we do must be without any selfish motives. Our love for God should always be the end result of all our actions, words and thought. In our sinful nature we think, “what’s in it for me; how will it affect me.” If we truly believe God loves us and everything that touches us must first pass through His hand we must put our selfish concerns aside and fill our concerns with imitating the love of God. Love must replace judgement, criticism, jealousy, bitterness, resentment and all other self-centered thoughts and feelings. This takes practice but the more we practice the better we will become as imitators of God’s unfailing love.
