Consistent Love

Romans 5:8. But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Human love is ambitious. If we like and agree we love. When we don’t like or agree we withdraw our love. God’s love is consistent. So often we are in the process of sinning yet His love for us remains consistent. So often He disapproves of our choices and actions yet He continues to love us. This is the kind of love God commands us to have for one another. I have been guilty of rejoicing when I see someone pulled over getting a speeding ticket. I confess it’s not because in was concerned about them putting themselves or others in danger. I was just glad the got what they deserved. God doesn’t give us what we deserve. He gives us His consistent love. I am learning to pray God’s blessings on those I see pulled over. I am learning to want God’s best for all over what each of us deserves.
