Matthew 16:18. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades a will not overpower it.

If we look at this with our human intellects we would question Jesus saying Peter is a rock. To sY he is a rock is to say he can stand hard and fast for his beliefs. Peter was the disciple who denied knowing Jesus 3 times. How can someone who acts like a coward be praised so highly? The difference in Peter before the crucifixion of Jesus and after the resurrection of Jesus is great. Before the Holy Spirit was not free to in dwell in the believers. After the Holy Spirit was released on what we call Pentecost all believers have access to God’s love, power and faithfulness. Being filled with His Hoy Spirit is not a one time event in a believer’s life. We are to be continually filed with the Hoy Spirit. We do this by exhaling our sins through confession and inhaling God’s forgiveness each day. Our question is are we doing our daily breathing exercises and staying filled with God’s Holy Spirit?
