Matthew 10:29. Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Fathers will.

One of our lay speakers used this text. He described watching birds in his back yard. The blue jays got his attention because of their color. The woodpeckers got his attention by their noise and kept his attention by their color. Sparrows don’t make much noise nor have much color. They come into his yard in groups but fail to get his attention. God pays attention to the un-colorful, quiet and least significant. How much more does He pay attention to each of us. He knows every part of our being and nothing about us escapes His attention. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He loves us more than we love ourselves. But God will not force us to receive His love. This choice is up to us. If you’ ex seen the painting of Jesus knocking on the door you might have noticed the door has no handle on the outside. God will not open the door of our heart. Have you opened the door to allow God in your life? Jesus is the door through Whom God enters.
