Matthew 23:8-12. But you are not to be called Rabbi, for you have one Teacher and you are all brothers. And call no one your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Nor are you to be called teacher, for you have one teacher, the Christ. The a greatest among you will be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

I don’t like to call or be called by a title. Titles separate people from each other. Titles are descriptions and not names. Calling people by titles not only separates them from those with other titles or no titles, it also tends to feed their pride. People tend to want to be known by what they do rather than who they are. Jesus is the Father God are the only Ones Who should have titles. They alone are worthy to be set apart from us. Yet, because of their sacrifice, we are given grace to come before Them and speak with Them. Our question is, if we want others to refer to us by a title, why is that?
