Working to Grow

2 Peter 1:5-8. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; to knowledge, self- control; to self- control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish a love.

Are you working to grow in your relationship with God and with other believers? In order to grow physically we must work to grow and/or buy food. We can’t just sit and watch the food. We must prepare it and eat it. In order to grow strong physically we must exercise our muscles. We can’t just sit and look at weights, we must pick them up and use them. In order to grow spiritually we must do more than glance t the written Word. We must pick it up, read it and study it. In order to grow in our relationships we must have more than knowledge. We must take time in that relationship to communicate, to share in work, to give and receive, to persevere in growing in that relationship through the good and the bad. We end with the same question, are you woe king to grow in your relationship with God and with other believers?
