Wasted Energy

Matthew 6:34. So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

So often we create our own difficult and unpleasant situations. Then we waste our time worrying about why these things happen. Instead of dealing with them constructively we waste much energy on the worry. Following Christ doesn’t exempt us from the mistakes and problems of life on this earth. Though we must deal with a variety of issues, our main purpose on this earth is to go and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are to introduce others to the transforming power of Jesus from sinner to redeemed. Our business of worrying is a sign of lack of faith, loss of energy and lack of looking to God for all our situations. Our faith is not in our ability to do right but in God’s power to help us fulfill His purpose for us. Our test is not what happens to us but how we deal or handle what happens. Let’s practice kicking out the wasted energy of worrying and unite with God’s power to deal quickly and rightly with all situations and move quickly to making disciples for our God.
