1 Peter 3:3-4. Let your beauty not be external-the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes-but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in Gods sight.

One of our granddaughters likes to bake and decorate cakes. She often uses white cake mixes but doesn’t know enough about flavorings to alter their flavor. Instead she uses coloring. We have no idea what the cake will taste like from the color. We must bite into it to see if it is a white cake with red food coloring or a strawberry cake. It is the same with people. We cannot know who the are by just seeing them. We must relate with their inner being through communication to get a glimpse of their true inner being. People mask who they are through various means. Casual conversations won’t get through the masks. Let us take time to really relate and know those who are in our midst most often, let us not judge or label any whose inner person is not revealed to us. All are truly seen and known be God and precious to Him. Should they be less so to us?
