Afraid to Tell

Mark 16:5-8
Then as they went into the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe b sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. a He has been raised! b He is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples, even Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.” Then a they went out and ran from the tomb, for terror and bewilderment had seized them. b And they said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

Jesus remained on this earth for 40 more days. The first who were told of His resurrection were the women who came to finish anointing His dead body. Though the were told bu angels they could not believe. They had no history to prepare them. They saw how hard of death He suffered. They couldn’t comprehend this was possible. Their fear and confusion over what they were told shut their mouthes and they told no one. Before we judge them too harshly for their unbelief and their silence we must examine ourselves. How often have we kept our mouths shut? What is it that makes us fear telling the good news to others? Let’s overcome those fears and tell someone pie today.
