Locked Doors

John 20:19. On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the disciples had gathered together and locked the doors of the place because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

Imagine being in that room. Emotions were running high. All were afraid of the Jewish leaders coming for them. Some had seen Jesus. Others didn’t believe. The debates must have been heated. All of a sudden Jesus appears in their midst. The door is still locked. Jesus knows their fear and confusion and speaks peace. When Jesus speaks peace there is peace. Their minds were still confused but they felt peace in the presence of Jesus. They didn’t have to understand to feel the peace. We each have a variety of locked doors within us. We don’t mean for them to keep Jesus out though at times we might think we want to). But if we listen for Him to speak peace to us He will come into those areas and help us unlock our doors. Let’s ask His Holy Spirit to flow through those key holes and bring the healing of Jesus into those areas.
