Reason for Coming

1 John 3:8 The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil.

Many think because they are a Christian, a child of God, their life should be blessed, comfy and cosey, free of troubles and heartache. This verse tells why Jesus came to this earth. He did not promise us a cushy life. In fact He warned many times we would have trials and tribulations even though He would never leave us. He came to defeat the hold of sin through Satan on this earth and the people on this earth. We cannot be lazy. Jesus did defeat Satan but we can only keep Him out of our life through the power Jesus gives us through His Holy Spirit. Life is hard. It takes hard work to develop physical muscles and once developed, hard work must continue to keep the muscles. The same is true with our spiritual muscles. We must exercise them each and every day through study and meditation on the written word, the Holy Bible, prayer and meditation in listening to the inner voice of the Holy Spirit and actions in carrying out and living His instructions. Our question is how are our muscles?
