Miss-led

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
Hebrews 13:9

We are continually bombarded with opinions. Most of them are stated with assurance that they are the only right opinion. It’s amazing how easily we can be convinced something is true without checking out the facts for ourselves. Usually it’s because we don’t want to take the time and energy to do our own research. In one of my sermons I misquoted a verse by leaving out a small word. I asked the congregation if they agreed with my quote and they said yes. Then I asked them to open their Bibles and read the verse as I quoted it to them the way I first quoted it. They were surprised. It is so very easy to be misguided. This is why we must get into the Bible for ourselves, study, pray and meditate on what God’s Word says to us for our life in our time. This devotional blog is only meant to be a jump-start into a more in-depth study and meditation for each reader on their own. The only answer I can give anyone is to look to God and listen to Him. Let us be sure we are well grounded in God’s Word, not letting the opinions of others blow us around.
