Battleground

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Before we accept Christ into our minds, hearts and lives our lives are dominated by sin. After we receive Christ we are to learn to have our lives dominated by the Holy Spirit. We no longer need to strive to prove ourselves worthy and earn our way to acceptance. We know there is no way for us to ever do that. God has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us in the way of Jesus Christ, His Son. The more we allow the Holy Spirit to indwell in us, the more we allow Him to possess all of our being, the more we become like Christ. While He works in us we are a battlefield. Satan doesn’t want to lose us. This is not because Satan wants us but because he doesn’t want God to have us. God has given us His written word, the Holy Bible, and prayer to battle Satan’s demons of temptation. Because of this battle it is important for us to really know God’s word. Satan cannot stand against the word of God. Jesus used the written word of God to battle Satan during His temptations in the wilderness. How much more do we need to know and use the word of God.
