Not Waver

Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another,

I’ve asked a few to come into the prayer room before the serves to join in prayer for the service, the staff and the worshipers only to hear the response, “No, I’m fine.” I’ve heard many others say I don’t need to go to church to believe God. I can worship Him in my own home or outdoors while I’m having fun. These people are presuming they can hold fast their faith on their own. They presume they won’t waver and they presume everyone else can do the same. We don’t need each other. We don’t need to be a connected body. In Hebrews in the chapter before the great “faith chapter’ we are told we must stir up one another to continue in doing good works. We need to encourage one another. We come together on at least one day a week to check in with one another. We share our defeats and victories and confess and worship and raise God together. But let us be sure when we come together we do encourage and not criticize, we build up and don’t tear down. We each have enough challenges from the carnal world without our own spiritual family throwing in hurdles for us to cross. Let us not waver nor cause any other to waiver.
