2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Today is thee birthday of the United States. The United States was founded and formed for the purpose of having religious freedom, not freedom from religion. We are commanded to pray for our country and the governing people. We are good at complaining about government policies or criticizing people in the government. We must ask ourselves how much time we spend doing those 2 things verses how much time we spend praying for those in government. We are to pray for them by name. We are to pray they will seek God’s wisdom in governing decisions. They are in leadership because God has allowed them to be there. Sometimes God just allows us to have the leaders we demand. The Hebrews had judges but wanted to be like other nations and have kings. That got them into great difficulties. God allows us to go astray from His perfect will to teach us but God will have His way in the end. It would be so much easier if we would do what we are to do and pray, earnestly for those in leadership for our country. Are you praying?
