Hebrews 4:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

We are to practice discernment. To do this we must learn to think God’s thoughts. We must have an idea of how things look through God’s eyes. We can only do this with the help of His Holy Spirit as we meditate on the Holy Scriptures. Having this discernment will keep us from being spiritually deceived… It keeps us grounded on the truth of God rather than being blown by the latest and most popular teachings. Discernment helps us know how to pray for various needs. According to Proverbs 14:6 discernment brings knowledge. We cannot hear or read enough about how important and vital it is to be well grounded in God’s written word, the Holy Bible. Let us ask God’s Holy Spirit to bring us into discernment as we read, meditate and live as vessels for God on this earth.
