Victorious in Tragedy

Ruth 1:5. Then Naomis two sons, Mahlon and Kilion, also died. So the woman was left all alone- bereaved of her two children as well as her husband!

I”m sure Naomi wondered why God allowed these 3 tragedies in her life. As we experience tragedies we seldom understand why. Often we never know why. Naomi”s tragedies led to Ruth moving to Judah, marrying Boaz and giving lineage eventually to Jesus, God’s Son incarnate. Ruth and Naomi never knew what impact their tragedies would have on future generations nor do we. We learn to face what God allows to come our way with faith and assurance God knows best for His purpose and glory. We are not on this earth for our own comfort or convenience but for God’s purpose and glory and as a vessel for Him to accomplish His purpose through us. It’s amazing to me that God chose to use such imperfect vessels to shine forth on this earth. When tragedy strikes remember through everything God is victorious.
