Possession of Confession

Jude 1:24-25. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

We may and will stumble many times but, if we possess Jesus in our confession, He will always be ready to pick us up and set us back on the right path. Many confess to be Christians but don’t have Jesus in their confession. I’ve had people define Christian as a gentile, law-abiding good person who attends church from time to time and gives to charities. They are unaware that the word “Christian” means “little Christ or follower of Christ.” Without Jesus in the possession of our confession none of God’s promises apply except the one of eternal separation from Him and a residence for eternity in hell. Our question is who is in our confession, our own goodness or Jesus Christ, the only Son of God?
