Hebrews 10:5-7. Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”

Here again we read the purpose of God”s Word, Jesus, coming in the form of created flesh. Animal sacrifices of the Old Testament could only remind mankind of their sin. Sin had entered mankind’s flesh and to defeat it sinless flesh must be sacrificed. God prepared for this from the beginning and His Word, Jesus, came to fulfill His will. We also have a purpose. God created us for fellowship; fellowship with Him and with each other. So many confessing Christians say they don’t need church to be a Christian. They can be a believer without fellowshipping with other believers but they are not fulfilling God’s purpose. Jesus prayed, (John 17:21) “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” May we do our part.
