Vending Machine

Matthew 6: 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Prayer isn’t a vending machine. It’s not for us to look and see what we want then put a prayer in the slot and expect God to give it to us. Prayer is for relationship. It takes communication to grow and flourish relationships and prayer is that means for our relationship with God. God knows our needs before we do. It’s okay to speak our needs to God but not to dwell on them over our expression of love and thanksgiving. We need to listen to our own prayers and determine how much time we spend asking versus how much time we spend praising, thanking and communicating love.
