For Eternity

Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

This verse is more than a benediction. It emphasizes the fact that our redemption through the blood of Jesus is for all eternity. No other redemption will ever be needed. Before the redemption of Jesus the priest had to sacrifice blood each and every day. No longer is daily sacrifice necessary. No other need or can sacrifice for our redemption. Once we come through the blood of Jesus, God sees His Son’s shed blood covering our sins of separation from Him. We are forgiven for all eternity and are now, through the righteousness and shed blood of Jesus, allowed to be in the very real presence of God. It still blows my mind that God loves me, a sinful being, enough to sacrifice His own and only Son to bring me into His presence and to be allowed to fellowship with Him. Have you walked through the blood of Jesus? If so, are you staying aware of being in the presence of God? If you haven’t experienced God you may. Just open your heart, mind and life to His Son, Jesus by inviting Him in, accepting Him for Who He is, confessing you are a sinner, asking His forgiving and accepting His forgiveness. Then rejoice. Feelings will follow later as you learn to experience the joy of His presence.
