Shining Light

Philippians 2;14-15 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.

It doesn’t take much listening to the news or reading the paper to know we are living in a crooked and twisted time. Our question is does the light of God in us shine brightly showing the love of God to those around us? How often do we let it shine? We read of and hear the crooked and twisted things people do in our day and time. We are to do everything without grumbling or disputing. We must reflect on how we do things, especially the things we find we must do but would rather not. Brother Lawrence in “Practicing the Presence of God” always did the lowliest of chores as unto the Lord. We need to remember all we do should be for God’s glory and pleasure. Doing things in this way will help God’s light shine through us brightly.
