Promises Delayed

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

Let’s take time to reflect what promises we have already received and experienced from God. If we have received Jesus into our hearts, minds and lives we have already received the promises of forgiveness of our sins and eternal life with God and the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit. If these were the only promises we would ever receive it would be more than enough. Yet there are other promises in God’s written word, the Holy Bible. What promises are we desiring? Let’s take time, after thanking God for what we have already received to think about what promises God has or is placing in our heart. What has been the delay in their fruition? The Holy Spirit will show us our lack, our stumbling block that is separating us from those promises coming to life within us.
