Timing Promises

Deuteronomy 2815. 22-24 “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statues. The Lord will make the pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it. The Lord will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought and with blight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish. And the heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron. The Lord will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

Why could Elijah pray for draught for so long with absolute faith? He was merely asking Go to go ahead and do what God said He would do if the king and nation did not turn back to Him. We, like Elijah, if we are walking in obedience to God and know His promises can pray His promises. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will prompt us to the timing but, like Elijah, sometimes we must continue in the prayer of faith until we see the promise come about in our time and space. Our prayers must always be in line with the word of God and in patience for His perfect timing
