Who We Are

1 Timothy 1:5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

In the Greek translation the words “pistis anupokritos” are used. Their accurate translation is un-hypocritical faith. We tend to water down the word “sincere.” This brings us to who we really are behind closed doors. Many of us wear many different masks. We wear one at work, another at church, another with family and so on. God sees us when no one else is around. That is the person He knows, not the one wearing the masks. We must examine what is in the thoughts we hide from others. These are the thoughts God hears. Is our devotion to God as intense as it appears when we are in church or with other Christians? Do we make a practice of giving to others when no one else can see, hear about it or know? Who are we in secret? That is who God knows.
