1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.

Contentment isn’t a calculated choice. It doesn’t depend on outside circumstances. Contentment is only possible when we embrace our Lord’s will in and through every aspect of our lives because we know He loves us and nothing can touch us without first passing through our Father’s hand. When we find we are not content we must get on our knees and confess our lack of trust in the provision and direction of our God. As we come to know and experience God in our lives contentment grows stronger and stronger. It is not dependent on what we do or what we can accomplish. Contentment is based on our relationship with God. Our question is, are we contented?
