Paired Preomises

Hebrews 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

How do we mature from baby food to solid food? How do we develop the powers of discernment? We must consistently study the written Word, the Holy Bible. As we become knowledgeable about what God’s has recorded for us in His instruction manual for living the opportunity for us to be deceived, to be confused as to what is good from what is bad, diminishes with our knowledge. All of God’s promises are paired with a requirement. Eternal life is paired with believing and accepting His Son, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior, recognizing and confessing our sin of separation from God and determining to live according to His Word. The promise of discernment is paired with the consistency of practicing distinguishing good from evil and the comparisons of good from evil are recorded throughout God’s Word. Our question is are we practicing what we read and are we reading and studying and meditating so we know what to practice?
