2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

Peter tells us in this verse how to resist temptation. We confirm our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior and confirm our choice to follow Him in obedience. We check our decision with the attributes of love in 1 Corinthians 13. If our decision has the possibility of leading us away from one of these attributes of love we say no to the decision and look for a way that includes these attributes. Love never fails but when we act without love we do fail. Praise God for His forgiveness when we do fail and the opportunity He gives us to renew our minds and walk on in the love of His Holy Spirit.
