2 Peter:20-21 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

We call the scripture “The Holy Bible.” We use the word “Holy” a good bit. Many even use it to express surprise or some other emotion,. The word “holy” means set apart to the service or worship of God. It computes unimpaired innocence and virtue, sinless, pure in heart and so on, Our question is do we really regard the Bible as holy? Do we really realize it contains the words of Almighty God speaking to us? Do we really desire to read and treasure His words and put them deep in our minds and hearts? When my spouse and I were dating we were in 2 different states, Long distance was expensive then and e-mail and Skype were non-existent. We each wrote at least one letter to the other every day. We couldn’t wait for the mail to come so we could read the letter. We didn’t just read each letter one time. We read each one over and over. How much more eager should we be to read the letters God has written to us? How much more should we want to store His words in our hearts and minds and treasure them? We must each ask ourselves where we are in this desire, As the Psalmist says (Psalms 42:1) “As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.” Do we?
