Strength in Weakness

2 Corinthians. 12:10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I was raised with the words, “Anything that needs doing or that you want to do, you can.” As I grew I found that wasn’t true. I found there are many things I want or need to do but don’t have the ability or strength to do them. If we could do everything by ourselves we wouldn’t look to God. It is our weakness that reminds us it is only through God that we can do all things. Hebrews 11: 32-34 talks about the strength that comes out of our weakness. This strength can only come if, in our weakness, we look to God and allow Him, through His Holy Spirit, to work in and through us. This applies to the physical, emotional and spiritual realms of our lives. Our question is are we going to let pride rule and presume we have the strength to conquer all with our own physical, emotional and intellectual strength or admit our weakness and trust in God, His power, wisdom and might?
