In or Of the World

John 17:15-16 I pray not that thou should take them from the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.

There is a difference between being in the world and being of the world. God created the world and said it was good. We can appreciate what God has created. God told mankind to be stewards or caretakers of the world. But, when mankind sinned by trying to make himself equal with God, Satan gained temporary dominion of the world. His reign will end in this world when Jesus returns for His Bride (the believers). Until then we are to care for all of God’s creation but we are not to give into the continual temptations Satan uses to try to seduce us away from following God and giving God glory. When a little child shows a parent a picture the child made, the parent praises tie pictures but it is the child the parent loves. We appreciate, enjoy and value what God has created but it is God Whom we love and glorify. Let us be continually of God while we serve and praise Him in this world He created.
