John 2:3-5 And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus said to him, They have no wine. And Jesus said unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come. His mother said unto the servants, whatever he says to you, do it.

Mary knew her Son was the Messiah. Her understanding of what the Messiah would do was wrong. She thought He came to bring joy, comfort and peace to the Hebrews. Later He says He came to bring a sword. She was looking for an enjoyable wedding feast. This is why Jesus asked her, “What does that have to do with Me? “ Yet, Jesus honored her misunderstood faith and did turn the water into wine. We ask for things amiss many times. We lack the understanding of God’s purpose with us and with those around us. We are short-sighted and see only the immediate future. Sometimes God allows what we mis-ask for. Our question is, when God says no how do we react? Does it affect our faith? If so, our faith was for the wrong reason. Do we get mad and throw a temper tantrum (refuse to pray, to serve, to go to church and worship, etc.)? We need to check how we respond to our prayer answers. We may not understand the answer but we still maintain faith that God knows best
