Act 3:1-6 Now Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked to receive an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him, with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but what I have, that give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.

Peter and John went to the temple to pray almost every day. The lame man was there almost every ray. I’m sure he was asking for money every day of all who passed by. We don’t know the timing of the Holy Spirit promptings but this one day He prompted Peter and John to pause and look at this man. It might be they weren’t paying attention to the Holy Spirit at other times or it might be that it wasn’t the man’s time for healing until this day. As the Holy Spirit prompted, Peter spoke the word of faith and the man was healed. There are many times we miss the promptings of the Holy Spirit. There are other times we rush ahead without the direction of the Holy Spirit. We need to always be listing and always wait for His leading so we truly speak the word of faith and not the word of assumption.
