John. 11:39-41 “Take away the stone,” he said. “But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor for he has been there four days.” Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.

Jesus was about to work a miracle. He was going to call forth Lazarus from the dead. Before He would work this miracle He told His disciples to role the stone away. They must do their work before He would do the miracle. We must consider why we don’t see miracles more often today. It could be because we just ask for them and then sit and wait. Have we asked our Father what part He wants us to have in the miracle? Maybe there is preparation to do like rolling the stone away. Maybe we need to alert others to our prayer for the miracle. We were part of one where part of the ocean was turned to glass. The first time we asked for it, it didn’t happen. That is because we didn’t have the faith to ask for it out loud. We were afraid others would hear us and laugh because we really didn’t have total faith God would do it. Then we asked again. We asked loud and clear and the ocean was glass around the girls being baptized. Let us pray for wisdom in our part in participating with God in the miracles He wants to bless us in the here and now.
