Self-Importance

Philippians. 2:5-8 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature Or in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature Or the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross.

There is no better example of what it means to be humble than Jesus. He was always with God the Father. He is the Word of God and it is through Him all things were and are created. Yet, He came down to earth in the fleshly form of a baby, totally dependent on others. He allowed Himself to be nailed to a cross. Yet we, sinful that we are, continue to argue with God and with His written word. We argue with others around us. We pride ourselves on the fact that we know the facts and know the right answers. We pride ourselves on our independence. We look down on others, considering others to be less knowledgeable, less educated, less spiritual and less important than we are. Pride is our biggest downfall. It take faith and trust to be humble. Faith in Go that He is living through and working in us. Trust in God that He is in control and that all that touches our earthly lives are for His glory. Let us accept we don’t need to be the important person, the one people look up to. Let us be the person who reflects the love and glory of God and gives others the desire to seek Him in their lives.
