Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

In college our choir director always said, “Don’t be afraid of making a mistake. If you don’t sing loud enough you won’t know you’ve made a mistake and you can’t correct it.” So many times we don’t try something new out of fear of failure or fear of the unknown. Many times we miss a blessing from God because we are afraid to try something different or afraid to be different from others around us. We might be afraid to raise our hands in church because no one else is. We might be afraid to suggest we open a meeting in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom, because we aren’t sure how others would feel about it. God tells us there is nothing to fear. Everything that touches us must first pass through His hands. He says He will never leave us or desert us. He even knows our name. Just think about that. The One Who created all being, all that is or was or will ever be, knows each one of us by name. That by itself is good for meditating on and praising and thanking God.
