Timing Forgiveness

Matthew 5:23-24 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

The choice of forgiveness must be immediate. As long as we are unwilling to forgive we block the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit we are unable to pray or to be a vessel for the work of God on this earth. All is in wait for us to choose to forgive. It is our self-pride that thinks we have a right to feel hurt or angry; we have a right to hold a grudge and be bitter. We think we have a right to hold on to our anger an/or hurt for a while. The only ones we are really hurting are ourselves. We are blocking ourselves from fellowship with God. Let us learn to choose to forgive as soon as we realize we have been hurt or angered.
