Worry Not

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

When we worry, fret or are anxious we are not believing the promises of God. He tells us to cast all our concerns on Him. We do this by instead of fretting or worrying about something we speak our concerns out in prayer. Sometimes it helps to start with our concerns in a fist and gradually lift our hands up to God and gradually open our hands until they can hold nothing but are open in praise to God as we speak out the release of our concerns to Him. Other times it helps to write them on a piece of paper, read them to God in prayer then tear the paper into small bits or burn it, acknowledging God has heard and is in control. Worrying or fretting is a choice. Releasing is also a choice. I’ve heard many say they’re not happy unless they have something to worry about. They are deceived. Worrying about someone doesn’t show love for that person, it shows mistrust of God. Caring and touching and helping someone as the Holy Spirit directs is the best way to show our love. Let us do like God commands. If we couldn’t do it He would not have commanded it. Let us give Him all our cares and bask in the fullness of His love.
